There are some things we are not taught in the Police Academy, like how to catch loose goat. A determined little goat takes our deputies on a wild foot pursuit.
On June 29 at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies and Animal Control responded to the area of 122nd Street South and Park Avenue South, near Pacific Lutheran University, after reports of a loose goat weaving in and out of traffic. One deputy even attempted to communicate with the runaway by speaking what he believed was "goat language." Unfortunately, the goat wasn't impressed. After a spirited 20-minute foot pursuit through the neighborhood, deputies and Animal Control finally cornered the four-legged escape artist and safely took the goat into custody. The adventurous goat was transported to a local rescue farm, where it will be cared for while Animal Control works to locate its owner.

Thankfully, this pursuit ended with plenty of laughs, a safe capture, and a couple tired deputies.
