«Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf» is a masterclass in acting. Elizabeth Taylor, in particular, gives what is - in my opinion - the greatest performance of her career. There's a frailty in her portrayal of Martha that I think is truly beautiful. George and Martha's relationship is certainly not the greatest love story of all time - it's spiteful and loathsome and pitiable - but those little moments of tenderness show that there's real affection between them, even when the corrosiveness of their character takes the best of them.
Lura picked the most perfect song to pair there two with, so hopefully I was able to capture the love/hate dichotomy that permeates their relationship.
