On February 14, 2018, Comancheros boss Mahmud 'Mick' Hawi was murdered in the parking lot of a gym in Sydney.

The assassination is believed to be linked to his tumultuous past, including a notorious brawl with the Hells Angels in 2009 that led to the death of Anthony Zervas.
