Here's a RWBY edit to celebrate the end of volume 9. There's not many clips of Summer Rose so it's rather short, hence the loop, but it was fun to make regardless of simplicity. Tried out some masking techniques too, such as with the rose petals and book pages.
I don't think I've an AMV edit since my Gasoline for a Penny video a few months ago (youtube.com/watch?v=H6TquXsxfcc) so it was nice to give it another go. Hope you all enjoy! ^^

This was made as an entry for The Judgemental Critters RWBY AMV challenge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-5hw5YZ3Fo). I tried to go above my usual level of editing by including a lot more masking, colour correction and manual camera tracking.
Theres tons of work and passion put into this edit, such as making Pennys eyes red in all the clips other than the last one; writing some of the lyrics in a code format; all the visuals and pixelation for Pennys vision when identifying targets; green blasts of energy and generally making the whole scene play out as if Penny is attacking Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang. I even manually (frame-by-frame) removed team RWBY from the background of the shot of Penny flying across the bridge.
I recommend watching it through twice, once focusing on the clips and another focusing on the text. I really hope you all enjoy this one! ^^")

For those unaware, RWBY is currently getting a 2D anime called RWBY: Ice Queendom and released its first 3 episodes in a premiere earlier today. Decided to do a fancam for Penny Polendina with the content weve gotten so far.
I dont do many AMV edits, but when I do theyre always a fun to experiment with in terms of editing. I dont recall ever doing a fancam edit especially, so hopefully I captured the right style for those types of edits. The video is also a perfect loop, so replaying should flow relatively smoothly. Im applying to get into professional video editing and had to make a creative montage out of existing footage for my application. Being a montage demonstration, theres no on-screen text or strong filters this time around; instead theres a focus on the cuts made and use of sound.

My previous video: Losing My Mind [MYSTERYSKULLS // MEME] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFgdeKQnI8U) recently blew up, becoming my most viewed video and helping me hit over 2.6k subscribers! ^^ Thank you all so much! In celebration, I decided to make another Mystery Skulls animation meme, this time of their song Money and starring Lewis. Much like the previous meme, I copied Lewis updated puppet rig shown off on MysteryBen27s Tumblr in order to get it completely accurate, making original assets for things such as the eyes, arms/hands, etc. Hope you guys like it as always. ^^
Keep in mind that the accuracy doesnt come from my own free-hand artistic ability, but rather the use of the same software and puppet contruction, of which will look basically identical due to not relying on hand-drawn lines and instead utilising the softwares line and shape tools as the original animations do. Im noting this as this can be confused for outright tracing, despite the unique assets, animations and graphics. To put it simply, a line or shape being computer-generated rather than drawn free-hand, means that recreating the line or shape can make the end product look exactly the same despite the lack of tracing. Hope this clears up any worries if anyone has them. ^^")
