Before I get shot for being a traitor... Olga Kurylenko is 100% capable of being Taskmaster and I do not blame her for the poorly written character she was given and I hope that the MCU and Thunderbolts treat her character right, she needs agency & personality along with some growth. Not to mention a better costume. xD

I rioted a little when it came out, and over the months I stayed bitter, but it was never directed at the actress OR the fact that Taskmaster was a woman... because it can work, she could be an amazing character male or female that doesn't have to be what defines her. They just wasted both a great actress and character. And all for a plot device that makes zero sense.
If what happened in Budapest took place in 2008 and the movie is in 2016 that was only 8 years for Antonia to age... so how the heck is she a full grown adult when she was in elementary school (maybe she could pass as a middle schooler but the actress was about 8-10 years old, so that still ain't enough time to be a 30-40 year old. I'm sorry but she cannot pass younger than that)
I still do not like the decision. Personally as a fan, why do we always have to accept the stupid choices Marvel does? We don't. I am not obligated to like the way Taskmaster was handled, and that is fine. The problem is I WANT to like her, I love the actress and I love Taskmaster, I just wanted it to be done properly, why did they have to ruin the character? Worse so, why make a bad version (of Taskmaster, the character is fine in her own right) being told "oh you're misogynistic if you don't like her" No. I'm not, they could have made her Anthony Dreykov and I still would have been mad. Because it is the WRITING. Not the gender. I do agree to an extent some people get pressed SOLELY on the reason she is a woman, BUT I digress from that reasoning. I wouldn't have any problems if Taskmaster was a woman, we all KNOW how much I loved Ghost in Ant-Man & The Wasp. And I was one of the only people to defend Sharon Carter since 2016 when people hated her because "she wasn't Peggy or Bucky" Which hating Sharon was deeply rooted in misogyny.
So I hear the arguments for the misogynistic Taskmaster haters, I just wanted to make it very very clear her gender was quite literally the LEAST of my complaints...
Women are NOT objects and I felt the BW movie somewhat made her to be one.
Taskmaster being a woman could be really hot all things considered, so idk why it feels like they purposely sabotaged both the character and actor... there was really no reason to do what they did. It was so lazy, they cared more about a plot twist rather than a good story line. Was the Red Room not emotionally compelling enough for Natasha?
And the fact that Antonia gets zero closure because Nat is dead?? NAH!
I would've left it where Natasha DID kill an innocent young girl and had this evil man not give a damn about her, that would make your skin boil, knowing that this man was so evil he didn't even care his daughter died. IT WOULD'VE ALL BEEN IN VAIN. Pointless....
I will be doing AU edits for Toni Masters sometime, I was working on getting her works like The Courier, Treason etc. so that I can have a little more to work with.
But I will be working on fan casts for a REAL Tony Masters Taskmaster. Just gimme a little bit of time.
Even though I see potential within her character, I won't hold my breath for the MCU any longer. I am beyond tolerant to their nonsense, I feel like anyone who truly enjoys the comics is being spat on. I will no longer support them in a very "dudebro way" but like I'm not saying boycott for Taskmaster, it's actually about Moon Knight that was the last freakin' straw.
I will look up spoilers from now on to keep up but I ain't giving them the time of day after Thor I have decided I am just too old for this. Too old to get upset that characters in the MCU have to be altered so much because I guess the comics are outdated in this modern era...
