DELTARUNE is Toby Fox's next game after the immense success of UNDERTALE. It takes place in an alternate universe (AU) where Monsters seem to never have been sealed in The Underground.
In the game you play as Kris Dreemurr (who looks like a mix of UNDERTALE's Chara and Frisk), the adopted (human) brother of Asriel Dreemurr and child of Asgore and Toriel. Asriel has gone off to college, though, and Asgore no longer lives in the house.
You don't spend much time in "Hometown," though, because when you go to school, Kris and the school bully Susie stumble into a closet corrupted and/or transformed by darkness. The dark closet takes them to another world.
In this world are beings called "Darkners" who are like Monsters, but not quite. The first two Kris and Susie meet are Ralsei and Lancer, both princes, yet extremely different in personality.
When you first meet Ralsei, he completely hides himself under a hood as he tells you of The Prophecy, or "The Legend of Delta Rune," and your role in it to seal Dark Fountains. Meanwhile, Lancer is a round, bouncy boy. Just a mischievous lad.
With a hearty helping of banter, swapping sides, and self-discovery (plus a mind-bending battle with a jester called Jevil for good measure); Kris, Susie, Ralsei, and Lancer have a life-changing adventure that leaves them wanting more.
...And more they get! The next day, not only do they bring every Darkner from the destroyed Dark World and into Ralsei's Castle Town, but they also find a new Dark World in the Librarby's computer lab!
Upon entering, Kris and Susie come face to face with well-meaning yet very misguided Queen, and discover that their classmates Noelle and Berdly are in this Cyber World with them.
Another adventure begins, this time with three new cast members. But when Kris finds themself alone in an alley, they're accosted by [[Number 1 Rated Salesman1997]] and [BIG SHOT] Spamton G. Spamton- the best link to the hidden lore that your average player will meet.
And one of those pieces of hidden lore is the completely mysterious "Mike! In this video I'll be doing my best to figure out who this illusive man is.
