Magic rocks, glass-looking, treasure-seeking - many Latter-day Saints realize that this was the world of Joseph Smith, founding prophet of Mormonism. Smith was deeply involved in divination and folk-magic. Yet Latter-day Saints often believe that Joseph Smith's money digging and folk magic era was notably distinct from his tenure as LDS Prophet. But is that true?

Joseph's direct involvement with divination seems to have started with his involvement with Sally Chase—a village seer living near the Smith household.

Joseph’s involvement with treasure seeking and magic blurred into his role as the founding prophet of Mormonism. Mormonism wasn’t a distinct phase of Joseph’s life after he concluded his life of magic—it was directly born out of it. And in this video, I’m going to prove that to you.
