I was a big fan of The Professionals back in the seventies. My loyalties ran more towards Lewis Collin’s Bodie over Martin Shaw’s Doyle as he seemed a more authentic ex-military hard-nut with a devil may care swagger and a better hairstyle. Whilst Shaw went on to make a big noise in TV dramas Collins aimed higher, for movie action hero status. Who Dares Wins should have effectively propelled him along that route but didn’t. Whilst I can, up to a point, certainly watch and enjoy his most significant foray into the world of mainstream movie making, I’m not going to claim to be its biggest fan because I’m not. Why is that, Bush, you miserable sod? Well…
