I had this idea back in MARCH and I've been waiting for the winter season to make it, and I'm so glad the inspiration stayed because I love how this turned out! It was a blast to make, and I'm really happy with the frame-by-frame!

This video shows some of the content for Fallen Renegades book 2, which should be coming out in 2024! This is the second book in a three-part series showing the backstory of some of the characters that I animate most frequently; the first focused on Eight's story, and now in the second book we get to see Opal's! This video takes a step back from the content I usually show with Opal though to instead focus on one of the supporting characters in book two: Reno!

Reno is a member of Opal's squadron in the midst of the war that has taken over their planet. He and Opal become close friends over the course of the story and near the end (major spoiler but if you're watched any of the videos with Opal's storyline you know this already) he's cut down in battle. This scene is one that I've drawn dozens of times, but I admittedly haven't drawn much else to flesh out his character until now. It's wonderful to finally show a little bit more of this guy! Reno is the most lackadaisical and relaxed member of Squadron 416, often shirking his responsibilities and goofing off in a way that initially makes things difficult for the budding team. However, he has his reasons behind his actions... ones that I'll leave up to theories until the book comes out!
