4:07 - The “bigger problem” we must address first…
5:50 - Step 1: How to avoid the inevitable “foot shimmy” (foot slippage!)
13:00 - Step 2: Which part of your foot should you actually use to play?
16:28 - Step 3: What’s the best spot on the footplate to position your foot?
20:55 - Question for you…
There are 2 ways you can place your right foot on the bass drum pedal (You saw them in the thumbnail!), but only one of these will actually yield the speed & control that you want.
As I analyze student after student’s playing, I see almost every one of them making the same foot position mistake starting out - Whether they’re playing heel up or heel down.
Today we’ll break down what this mistake is (in other words which one of those is “right” vs “wrong”!), and we’ll nail down how your foot should actually be positioned on the footplate.
Make this adjustment, and you’ll find your bass drum precision and speed going through the roof.
However, there’s a bigger problem we have to address first, or else none of this will work. Let’s get your bass drum foot playing smoother, faster, and more controlled today. YOU CAN DO THIS.
I believe that YOU can become the drummer everyone wants in their band. Anyone can learn the drums, and you’re far more capable of mastering this instrument than you think you are. Don’t sell yourself short!
