Confused about which labor stage includes pushing? This one’s an NCLEX favorite.

🌀 Stage 1 = Dilation from start of contractions → 10 cm
👶 Stage 2 = Pushing begins at 10 cm and ends with delivery of the baby
🩸 Stage 3 = Delivery of the placenta

⚠️ NCLEX Tip: Pushing only happens when baby is at +1 station or lower — not just because mom is 10 cm!
Pushing too early = swelling, trauma, and delayed delivery.
