So my first cover of 2018 is actually going to be the belated piano cover I teased for the Christmas special. Whoops! There's a few mistakes in there, but I can live with them.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the game that made me buy a Switch- I knew I had to get one once it was announced. And I'm so glad I did.
The music in the Xenoblade Chronicles series has always been amazing to me. One of the stand-out moments in the original XC was when you first set foot on Gaur Plains, and the field theme kicks in. I also enjoyed X's eclectic mix of electronic music- though to be fair, that was partly because it was Hiroyuki Sawano!
Hopefully, this year I'll be able to release covers more often- I started in 2015 with 29 covers (and that was a half-year!), 14 in 2016 and just 10 last year.

I got the idea for this while I was listening to A Cruel Angels Thesis, where I noticed that the drum introduction to the main motif sounds almost exactly like the drums for Never Gonna Give You Up. And with my new drum sounds which mean I can finally create tom sounds, I thought it would be amusing :)
I am planning on doing a proper cover of A Cruel Angels Thesis at some point- Im currently stuck on what to do for the bit post-chorus.

Im going to be honest, I couldnt get into Evangelion. But I dont think anyone can deny that the OP is amazing, so I finally got round to covering it!
Also, this is showing off the new drum sounds! Ive finally worked out a way to emulate toms by combining a pitch down on the triangle channel with the noise channel.
