Using orbital tracking data, many astrophysicists believe that the lunar lander from Apollo 11, the Eagle, is likely still in orbit around the moon today, over 50 years later. If we setup probes on the moon to study the sky, we would be able to accurately locate its current orbit. Some have discussed recovering the Eagle, not only for historic purposes, but also to study the effects of a human-rated spacecraft that’s been in orbit for 5 decades.
