Julian Togelius is a Professor of Computer Science at New York University and co-founder of modl.ai, which develops AI methods for game testing. He has researched the intersection of AI and video games for more than 20 years, contributing methods for procedural content generation and player behavior modeling, as well as the General Video Game Playing Competition. He argues that the absence of AI in actual gameplay is a design problem, not a technical one—and that we need to design games around modern AI capabilities.
