Christmas in Jerusalem looks different. The city doesn’t decorate for the holiday, yet every year around Christmas, something quietly meaningful happens. So when a Christmas carol is heard here, it’s not ordinary — it’s something rare, and people notice. Out of curiosity, Israelis step into spaces where carols are sung and Scripture is read, wanting to understand the story behind the season.

At Christ Church near Jaffa Gate, our Local Partners at CMJ open their doors for evenings of carols, Scripture readings, and simple hospitality. Nothing is forced. People come because they’re curious, and they stay to hear the story — a Jewish story of a Jewish Messiah who chose to dwell among His people.

This is why these nights matter. They create space for honest conversation, worship, and reflection in the heart of Jerusalem, right where the story began.
