In SILA, Inuit angakkuaq (shaman), artist, and knowledge keeper Rakel Aviaja Sanimuinaq reflects on what happens when we lose the knowledge of who we are.

When we become disconnected from our identity, our ancestors, and our essence, something fundamental begins to unravel.

Without that foundation, we can find ourselves in despair.

This loss is not simply personal, it is the legacy of histories that sought to separate people from their language, culture, ceremony, and relationship with the living world.

SILA is a journey back to that remembering. A return to the wisdom that lives within us, the relationships that sustain us, and the deep knowing that we have never truly been separate from who we are.
