I had SO MUCH FUN making this video! The idea was so random and silly and formed so quickly that I knew it was God inspired (that has happened a few times before and it’s been so long since a new skit idea!). I kept thinking about it and laughing, jotted down the main points, and decided to go for it! I wasn’t sure how the limited dialogue would turn out, but God so clearly inspired this idea, and I knew he’d make things turn out as we played through the process. And because of the minimal dialogue, music would be key for the emotions I wanted to elicit. A few days before filming this skit, there was a piano compilation that was YT recommended. I’d been enjoying the songs and realized that some would fit the vibe I was going for. But then what? Well, I already had a piano theme, so why not go with that? Found some more classical piano pieces that worked, but they were kind of slower. How about happy classical piano? Wow! Another compilation video with great songs (and a cute happy seal on the thumbnail)! The songs were great on their own, but I hoped the short scenes wouldn’t make them sound too choppy and abrupt. They didn’t! It all flowed together, almost like a single song specifically made for this video!! 😭😂🥳 SO HAPPY!!!

I believe this is the most sets I’ve had in one video. 🌟
I’ve also wanted to see if I could pull off that ghost effect – AND IT WORKED!!! 😱🤩🥳💃🎉

But the best part was that I didn’t overthink myself out of making it. I felt like I was playing with my best friend. He’d inspire me with ideas on the spot, like giving the cat a mustache and changing the color as he aged, or having him leave the rose on the bed for his wife. 💕

Even the ramble at the end was a total God thing. I’d been filming quickly, setting sets on top of each other, and was cleaning up for the day when I noticed that the concrete scrapbook paper that I’d used for the parking lot matched the church steps perfectly. Not wanting that to go to waste, I started filming randomly, thinking it’d most likely be “junk footage” that’d end up being deleted later. But...then I wondered if I could do a voice over with it in the background. I didn’t write a script or anything, I prayed about what to say, took a timer out to the car and talked. And it ended up being EXACTLY the length of the footage! 😂 COME ON! 👏
