5/10/2023: At a House Oversight Committee hearing, Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) helped his Republican colleagues with a definition of "woke capitalism," noting that the Indo-European root word for "woke" also gave us the word "vigilance."
“Vigilance is probably the best definition of ‘woke’ as [Republicans] are using it… The opposite of a vigilant, woke investment strategy is a negligent and inattentive investment strategy.”
He concluded, "When it comes to climate change, if it's not 'woke capitalism,' it's 'broke capitalism.'"
