About the Show //
David Picciuto, known for his YouTube channel Make Something, presents his first solo exhibition, UNSUBSCRIBE. The show features wall work and mixed-media sculpture that mark a deliberate departure from the content that built his audience of nearly one million subscribers. No algorithms. No trend chasing. Just the work.
Artist Statement //
I’ve spent 12 years making things for an audience. Furniture and objects designed to perform, intended to get the click. Someone once told me I don’t make art, I make decor. That struck a nerve. UNSUBSCRIBE is my answer. These pieces weren’t made for a trend or an algorithm. They were made because the ideas wouldn’t leave me alone. I waited 50 years to find out if I could do this.
