We live in a world that has declared war on silence. Between the relentless noise of our schedules and the calculated distractions of the enemy, finding a moment of true stillness feels like chasing after the wind. We often exhaust ourselves trying to manufacture "quietness" by changing our external surroundings, hoping it will trickle inward, only to find that life's chaos eventually breaks through.
But there is divine quietness that operates on a different frequency. As Job 34:29 remindes us: "When the Lord giveth quietness, who then can make trouble?" When God bestows His peace, it isn't a fragile absence of noise; it is a sustaining power that originates from within. It is a stillness that the world didn't give and the devil cannot take away.
While we are called to follow the Lord's example in seeking out quiet places, we must realize that true, unshakeable rest is a gift from the Creator. If you are drowning in the clamor of life, it's time to stop trying to build your own peace and start asking for His.
When the Lord gives you quietness, you become untouchable by the storms of this life. You will be able to withstand anything, even the darkest times we are entering into.
