Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your mental health is to get out into the woods, even when your body is telling you to stay home.
After a rough week following my injury on the fells, I headed out for a solo woodland hammock camp in freezing 0°C temperatures. This wasn't about testing high-end gear or hitting big miles; it was a test of pure resilience. Between the bitter cold and the physical struggle of setting up a tarp and hammock one-handed, there were moments where I genuinely considered packing it in.
In this video, I share the reality of "one-handed" camp craft and why I believe we should never quit when things get difficult.
