Filmed on November 9, 1982, this raw archival tape goes behind the scenes at the Baltimore Civic Center during the massive press conference where undefeated welterweight champion Sugar Ray Leonard announced his shocking first retirement from boxing due to a detached retina.
Before the official broadcast began, cameras captured the electric atmosphere and the incredible "Who's Who" of 1980s sports and entertainment royalty who traveled to Baltimore to pay their respects to the champion.
