Michael Keaton became a movie star by taking a role almost nobody wanted him to play.
By the late 80s, he was known for comedies like Night Shift, Mr. Mom, and Beetlejuice. So when he was cast as Batman, fans hated it. They thought Hollywood had turned the Dark Knight into a joke before cameras even started rolling.
