In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the United States government banned certain kinds of people from emigrating to America.

On this week's episode, we'll look at the worst attempts to reform immigration policy. We'll learn about the Chinese Exclusion Act which banned Chinese laborers from coming to the U.S. We'll learn about the Immigration Act of 1917 which implemented a literacy test for immigrants to pass, and the National Origins Act of 1924 which banned asians from multiple countries from emigrating to America.
