Special thanks to friends, Bill and Penny Guynn and Trenton and Tanner Dominy for taking me to Wappela, IL to capture the last vestiges of the ole Illinois Central the way I remeber it. Old GP10's, ex-ICRR, and the original Main Line of Mid-America, and throw i a nice caboose museum at Heyworth, and it makes for a great experience.
Other footage is from the LaSalle to Oglesby stretch, and the Mendota segment when it was last used by the BN railroad. Many of these clips and more are on my "Ray's Train Videos of the Midwest," which can be purchased at the Mendota Railroad Museum, along with Model Railroading issues of the LaSalle IC engine house and several of my postcards.
