I used to absolutely hate the 24-70 because I was always fearful that it would cause me to become a very lazy, static photographer. Coming from a street photography background, I always carried the high mobility of that genre into other genres of photography and used it to great benefit; being curious, experimenting, playing around with different compositions—being mobile facilitates that.
However now, many years later, I've continually worked on my on-location shooting process and can now start to harness the extreme versatility a 24-70 provides, while also extending that with my inherent nature to always be exploring new compositions wherever I am, across all genres of photography I shoot in.
Definitely a journey, but one I'm grateful to have learned from.
