Chris Brown is taking his first real music beating in 21 years, Drake's Iceman moved 520 first week, and Drake and LeBron look done. Ray Daniels, T-Mac, Mickey Fax and Silk Smart break it down.
Iceman came in at 520, Made of Honor 135, Habibi 130. Mickey says Drake's mistake against Kendrick Lamar was rapping instead of making a record - Not Like Us had legs, Family Matters was eight minutes. Ray says the lawsuit was about discovery and getting out of the Universal deal.
Then Chris Brown. Pitchfork gave the album a 1 and Chris answered back. 27 songs, no theme, highest charting record is Falling with Leon Thomas at 80. Ray's take: Chris has no Thriller and no Confessions, he is more talented than Bruno Mars and Beyonce, but he has no Quincy Jones. Jermaine Dupri is Usher's Quincy, Troy Taylor is Trey Songz' Quincy. Chris needs to leave LA and make a Virginia album with Pharrell, Timbaland and Teddy Riley.
The Max B clip with Gillie and Wallo sets Ray off about Big Daddy Kane and how we treat OGs. Mickey puts Future in the big three over J. Cole. Drake paid Molly Santana 500K when she asked 100K, and Rugrat 1900 says Drake took his Lil Birdie sample.
