We've discovered by undocking the Scene/Layer Explorer when using Sculpt (or Scribe), will improve the speed of some functions by up to 20 x as fast.

As a comparison, we attached the model in the scene using different methods.

00:09:13 sec, Sculpt - Floating Layer Explorer
01:44:45 sec. Sculpt - Docked Layer Explorer
03:30:20 sec. 3ds Max attach (from list) - Docked Layer Explorer
04:40:32 sec. 3ds Max attach (from list) - Floating Layer Explorer
