Winnipeg, Dec. 6, 2017 - Mainstream media and reactionary governments are lying about events in Venezuela with the objective of overthrowing the democratically elected government of Nicolas Maduro.

Professor Johnny Márquez is a Venezuelan lawyer, diplomat and scholar and president of the Latin American and Caribbean Center for Energy and Environment Studies. Speaking at the historic Ukrainian Labour Temple in Winnipeg, he answered a wide range of questions about the current situation in his country.

Organizers of the event are urging Canadians and friends of Canada to sign a petition that calls upon the Canadian Government to end its sanctions against Venezuela. The link is petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Sign/e-1353
