Prepared as a contribution to the What's Next colloquium. The fearsome brief for this meeting is given below. This is my response, which interrogates the role of Embodied Cognitive Science in scaffolding the ethical development of science as the core concepts of Nature, Society, Culture and the Sovereign become fluid.

The brief: The colloquium will focus on “What’s Next?” for theories of embodiment in philosophy and cognitive science. What’s Next!? should be considered in two key senses. First, we intend to explore what comes next for the so-called embodied approaches to philosophy and cognitive science (4E, enactive, and ecological etc.). Second, given the state of the world, and the human’s place in it, we want to spend time considering both what comes next, and what we as philosophers can do now. We hope to focus on growing trends in cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and inclusive approaches in particular.
