Today I announce a new long term series for the channel. I consider a long term series to be anything that lasts longer than a single game. Phantasy Star and Final Fantasy XIV coverage will still continue but this series is now added into the mix as well.
I've always been fascinated by the Xeno series. However throughout most of the time it existed I've been blocked largely by getting distracted by other games and not getting back until I've forgotten more finer details than I would like. However because of what I know through the limited gameplay I have had along with enjoying Yasunori Mitsuda's sound tracks, and pre-production knowledge, I also know enough to know some of the higher level events that happen in the games such as how Xenosaga was originally supposed to be 6 games but then it got cut down to 3 along with some minor releases like A Missing Year. We also didn't have the title screen yet for the Xenoblade X Definitive Edition at the time of uploading for the ARG which took place starting with the NGS Vael stream which is why I left that off the video.
For Xenogears, I'm aware of the existence of the Perfect Works book which goes into extreme detail about the world of Xenogears and that the game is but one part of a longer story. I'm also aware of the reputation of Disc 2. (And yes, I did lampoon it in this video.) I'm also aware of a scene towards the very end of the game, due to it being on MTV back in the day, that I will need to heavily edit in a similar manner due to YouTube's rules. I know nothing is shown but I'd rather not risk the channel over something like that. If you know what I'm talking about, you know. I'll try to edit it early on so I can limit the amount of context I have around the scene.
The furthest I ever got in this game was right after an arena/prison section. I distinctly recall running out of fuel and that causing me major issues. Ocarina of Time came out shortly after, and while I've attempted to clear it a few more times, each time I got distracted by something else. I'm fairly certain PSO's release distracted me on one such attempt. Once Xenogears is cleared, after some other content, we're likely jumping to somewhere in the Xenoblade series.
