Hi there, I've never copied BBC Radio Somerset - and there they were yesterday morning loud and proud with 1 kW of TX power. Doesn't sound like a lot and of course AM modulation is much less efficient than SSB and I have been heard in the USA with 10 Watts! Anyway, that's not the point, I was checking to see whether AM was completely dead - and it's not! :-)
Recorded in Oxford UK on 11/10/25 at 02:29 hrs UTC using a Yaesu FRG-8800 and Wellbrook ALA1530 magnetic loop antenna (outdoors) via a Bonito/NTi AntennaJet RF splitter and GI1000 galvanic isolator.
Thanks for watching and 73.
