Exploring Bukit Batok: 1980s HDB Public Housing Walkthrough! 🇸🇬
Today, we’re heading out to the West Region of Singapore to explore the neighborhood of Bukit Batok! This mature town was built right on top of old granite quarries, and it’s packed with authentic local history and classic heartland vibes.
In this video, I’m taking a walk through some of the older 1980s HDB (Housing & Development Board) public housing blocks in the area. We get a real look at the iconic retro architecture, wide-open void decks, communal corridors, and everyday local community life.
I’m only touching on one or two of these classic estates in this video, but this is just the beginning! I’ll definitely be back in Bukit Batok to cover more of these blocks, neighborhoods, and local spots in upcoming videos.
