Another long one!!! First, thank you to all who hung out yesterday!
I'll get right to it. The Jebao doser is crap. It's not that the heads are crap. They're like many of the other dosers, including the $420/470 slave/standalone kit from GHL. Yes, the Jebao pump head material of construction is a lower grade plastic, but whatever. That's a consumable like the head tubing. The pump head is not meant to last forever. What matters to me is control and maintainability. Stepper motors, speed controlled, reversing, precise control within the app, sub-1mL dosing, dosing logging, user-replaceable parts and precise calibration. BUT!!! The right tool, and budget, for the job. If the DP4 gets the job done, then cool. I say go for it. Just don't buy the Jebao 3.4. When it first arrived on the scene, it was $150 from the US. It went in the trash. Can't speak for the Jebao 2.4, but I'll order it and share what I find. Cool?
No matter what you buy, know what really matters? Maintain your gear. Don't run it until it dies. Follow the recommended maintenance intervals and buy equipment that's maintainable. We get into that quite a bit.
Then some other stuff. RC flying, the Hydros Control 2, my fav the AliE bar, a $40 Ecotech Radion Gen 4/5 power supply, and Lynn sharing KHG/DIY reagent info.
Cool? Cool, thanks, and be kind!
