Around here, there are hundreds of places and thousands of stories. Joe Batt’s Arm is found just off the coast of central Newfoundland on Fogo Island. The shoreline is dotted with a colourful array of punts, and able-bodied men and women with the strength to row them. There are plenty of stories floating around about the man they call Joe Batt, and where the place got its name. Here’s Walter and Colleen with a tale of their very own.
