Many of you have asked why we've changed things up and provide a liquid sealant instead of thread tape with your QuickJack. To answer your questions, in this Quick Tip we go over the pros and cons of using thread seal tape versus liquid thread sealant. The fact of the matter is, both options will get you the same great results! However, when used improperly thread seal tape can have adverse effects on your QuickJack system. With tape, debris can break off and clog the flow control valve, it can cover the fitting causing a backup of fluid, and it can make a less effective seal when improperly applied to the threads.
