My cousin Audury Perot Hawsey passed away on April 22, 2026. She was 78 years old, and she was one of the first people who opened the door to my Louisiana family history in person. This episode is for her.
It's also for every researcher who has lost someone before they got the chance to ask. The knowledge our elders carry....the warnings, the silences, the stories that never made it into any record, that's a living archive.
