I show what I look for and how I inspect a vintage sewing machine when I'm thinking of buying it or when a customer wants to know if it's a good one to purchase. It is often better to spend more for one that needs less work if you plan to sew on it soon. On the other hand, there are real bargains available for machines that are not working properly if you'd like to fix it yourself for fun or profit.
