Curious to know what happens in the studio?
Here’s the breakdown:
1️⃣ We start with a scratch track — a quick vocal over the click so the team can build around it. You can also think of this as the demo.
2️⃣ Once the track is built, we move to vocal day. You’ll do about 5 - 15 takes of your main vocal. Keep the emotion of the song in mind for this!!
3️⃣ Then we comp — carefully choosing the strongest, most connected lines from each take to build your final performance.
4️⃣ If there are any doubles of harmonies that need to get recorded, that’s next!
5️⃣ Mixing and mastering to get your song ready for release!
There’s a lot that goes into recording vocals for a song.
But I promise you it’s so fun!
And don’t worry, most of this stuff your producer or engineer will do for you - like @cammeltonmusic here!
You just focus on delivering an awesome and emotional vocal performance and your job is done 😉
