Raising children in the Netherlands comes with a unique blend of advantages and challenges—especially if you're coming from a background like mine in Ghana. In this video, I share my personal experiences and key observations about what it’s really like to raise kids in the Netherlands—from the incredible healthcare system and kraamzorg (postnatal care) to daycare, education, safety, and beyond.
But it’s not all perfect. I also dive into the less-talked-about aspects, such as the cultural contrasts with African parenting, identity challenges, and the realities of raising kids in a very liberal society.
