Isolation.
This experience with leukemia has been tough physically. I’ve been struggling for months to put into words what I’ve felt like mentally and if I had to describe it in one word it would be, isolating. If someone in your life is going through this, don’t just check in once. Don’t just send a card or a text. Keep showing up. Ask them about something other than their treatment. Make space for the person they still are, even if they don’t feel like that person anymore. Because trust me, they need it more than they’ll ever tell you I know I do.
