Time Diver: Eon Man is an unreleased/cancelled NES action platformer that never saw the light of day... right before it's own release date! I'll focus less on speculation, and more on appreciating exactly what we missed out on. Calling it an "obscure gem" may be an understatement, considering 99% of retro gamers probably don't even know this old game existed. It was slated to be released in 1993, which was two years after the SNES released. So, it's a game that pushed the NES to its limit, given it was on its last legs.
The version of Eon Man available and archived (for video game preservation purposes) is the Prototype version of the game, which is still the full game. It's just a prototype build, and we never saw the retail version. Let's explore this lost NES game together and see whether it was good or not.
