The mainstream media is promoting a narrative where drivers are to blame for recent increases in traffic violence and death—that they're more hopeless, reckless, and full of rage than ever. This spin is good for institutions (more money for law enforcement, less change for engineering professionals) but shows a deadly ignorance of the actual cause of traffic violence.
