I have been considering this topic a while; specifically, with the struggle I have with how this categorizing of books makes the competition between genre and literary fiction extend into how we think about critical acclaim vs commercial success, as well as who is entitled to both.

This topic is deeply reflected in the reception and categorizing of "You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty" by Akwaeke Emezi, so I decided to make this recipe inspiration of the book as I explore this topic.
