Many people who have seen any video of mine recently may have noticed, and complained about, how loud the crickets outside are.
Well, I'm here to clear up that misinformation you're spreading.
They're not crickets, they're cicadas.
They're not outside, they're inside.
And nothing can be done to remove that background noise from my videos.
The Great Green Cicada (Cyclochila australasiae) is the world's loudest insect, and they're currently in bloom around here. These little guys spend seven years growing in the ground before emerging to spend one afternoon screaming themselves to death directly into my audio equipment.
It's just nature. We can't change that, and we'd be fools to try.
