I've been teaching this extreme metal vocal thing for five or six years now, and I've learned a LOT. I've gone from charging nothing and giving lessons away for free to being able to help people find success and excitement when making these nasty vocal sounds we all love. Anyways, there are more and more people stepping into this harsh vocal game and while I certainly wouldn't claim to be the best coach out there, I do think that I have some insight for new coaches that I wish I had early on. So here's some brief info on how to help your students anchor the sound of their voice to their body, overcome overthinking, stay focused and flexible, and most importantly....how to keep the lessons HUMAN.
