Disney's Tangled: What Really Happened To Rapunzel In The OG Story…
Tangled is by far one of the best adaptations of the Rapunzel story that exists! Although much like many retellings of the story, it took a lot of creative liberties to send a better message to the audience. You see, the story of Rapunzel doesn’t come from an old legend or fairy tale like many might believe. The character is based on an allegedly true story about a woman who would end up being referred to as a saint. That said, the true story of what happened to the real-life Rapunzel, whose actual name was Barbara, was much darker. And be warned, it does NOT have a happy ending.
