Meet Pianist Sean Cooney, the June 2025 WMHT-FM Classical Student Musician of the Month.
In this exclusive video interview, Sean discusses his passion for piano, his dedication to daily practice, and his interpretation of Franz Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No. 10 in F minor — a powerful piece full of drama, struggle, and lyrical beauty.

A student at The Doane Stuart School in Rensselaer, NY, Sean has studied piano since age four and plans to pursue music performance in college. He was nominated by his teacher, Akina Yura, who has helped guide his development as both a musician and an artist.
