In this video I respond to Rationality Rules' video called David Mitchell doesn't understand atheism. He expressed a common attitude among atheist activists which amounts to wanting to throw the baby out with the bath water. Religion offers clear benefits so saying because it also can be harmful it should be whole sale opposed is as irrational as saying that because some governments are bad that we shouldn't have Government. Some may argue Government is necessary and religion is not, but that doesn't refute the argument.

Sorry about the bad color. I'll improve the image quality on future videos.

A big thanks to kavi-karnapura of wales for editing.

“review of the past studies of religiosity and aging indicates that a number of common
patterns of church attendance, belief in God, life satisfaction and personal adjustment can be
found. Past research indicates that church attendance hits a low point between 18 and 24,
remains relatively stable between 25 and 54, rises slightly after 54 and drops slightly after
80. Thus for most of one's adult life up to age 80, church attendance is fairly stable with a
slight rise in the later years.”
