Hi everybody! I'm excited to announce something I've been working on that I think will be useful to AMV editors looking to improve -- it's a new series called What Makes It Great. In each episode, we'll be looking at a great AMV and then going through it from beginning to end and talking about exactly what it is the editor is doing that makes the video great. While I won't be focusing so much on how to do this technique or that effect (these are not "tutorial" videos), we will be looking at broader concepts in AMV editing and discussing how the editor is applying these concepts in their video. These will be somewhat lengthy episodes -- typically 30-40 minutes apiece -- but they will be extremely detailed when it comes to analyzing what exactly the editor is doing and why.
I have a real passion for AMVs and I want to share that in a way that will be helpful to others looking to develop in their editing skills -- and I hope you'll join me as we take a look at some really great videos! The first episode will be going up on Friday, May 22, 2020, and I plan to release a new episode every Friday for the foreseeable future. I hope you enjoy this series!
